The Holy Bible

The Holy Bible is a library of 66 books written by about 40 authors. It contains the wisdom of many centuries and is the Word of God.

In the Christian Living Class, we believe in the Bible as divinely inspired as stated in the Manual of The Church of the Nazarene, our denomination:

IV. The Holy Scriptures
4. We believe in the plenary inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, by which we understand the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, given by divine inspiration, inerrantly revealing the will of God concerning us in all things necessary to our salvation, so that whatever is not contained therein is not to be enjoined as an article of faith.
(Luke 24:44-47; John 10:35; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Peter 1:10-12; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

We are firmly grounded in the King James version of the Holy Bible, but our members use various other versions of the Bible in study and discussion. We make full use of the most recent technology in getting a full understanding of all aspects of the Bible.

Members have hard copies in print of various versions of the Bible such as:

The King James Version

American Standard Version

New International Version

We also make full use of online Bibles such as:

Online Parallel Bible

Bible Gateway

Blue Letter Bible

Logos / Biblia.com

On the laptops, iPads and other electronic devices used in class, we have over 25 versions of the Bible available.

One of our most demanding but satisfying Bible studies was going through the course "Learn the Bible in 24 Hours" by Chick Missler.
